Application
The camshaft activates the intake and exhaust valves in a petrol or diesel engine. Our casting process is particularly suited to casting cam lobes and rocker arms. Rocker arms are cast for energy-efficient engines. Only minimum post-processing is required because of the high degree of precision.
Advantages
- The concavity is cast at the same time: no post-processing required
- Lowest weight possible with optimum strength
- Steel alloy capable of withstanding great force
Advantage of the CIREX casting process
The concavity’s complex geometry can be cast and need not be (post-) processed. The component is cast in a strong, heat-resistant and oil-resistant alloy. Significant stiffness is one of the design requirements. ‘Near Net Shape’ (NNS) design for the lowest possible mass with maximum strength.
